Chiropractic Care
As a natural type of health care, chiropractic emphasizes spinal adjustments to promote health of the nervous system and overall well-being. In addition to providing adjustments, Dr. Swedberg performs an orthopedic type of muscle testing on the shoulders and legs as part of the exam process.
When he finds a weak muscle, he’ll relate it to a certain vertebrae or subluxation in the spine. “I will tell patients, ‘After I’m done adjusting you this is going to strengthen up,’ and 99% of the time it does.” That’s one way he shows patients when their spine is out of alignment it creates inhibition to the muscles which causes dysfunction and pain.
The Master Controller of Our Bodies
The nervous system controls every part of the body.
Dr. Swedberg uses a lighted poster diagram to illustrate this fact. In particular, he shows patients using charts how the nerves coming out of the neck control the arms and how the nerves coming out of the low back control the lower legs. Only a small percentage of nerves coming out of your back are involved with pain; 90% are involved in how everything is functioning.
Our Techniques
We offer a variety of manual and instrument-based techniques to perform chiropractic adjustments:
- Diversified
- Extremities
- Gonstead
- Impulse IQ – this handheld instrument is based on tone so as you’re making the adjustment you’re taking tension off the brain and spinal cord. It features a computer chip and can sense when a restricted joint starts to move again.
- Torque Release
